Have a little empathy, Salmo. I am somewhat certain losing a member warrants at least a modicum of compassion.

Ah, that's happened before. Even so, how horrible can the experience be? I understand that as forums go, we're a pretty high class bunch, but it's still the internet. I'm among those who haven't figured out that exposure to negative internet posts results in so much personal trauma that the only solution is to leave a forum community instead of simply scrolling on past threads that don't interest or may somehow offend me.

Hah! I had 2 health care appointments today and stopped by the grocery store on the way home. I saw that they had eggnog, and I remembered that I have some rum in the liquor cupboard, and tomorrow's a holiday. So rum it is! And come dinner time, it'll be red wine. Didn't I tell you that Costco is out of boxed chardonnay? So I had to buy a couple cases of bottles for fish and chicken dinners. I'm not a one size (Chianti) fits all occasions like you.
 
While we do drink a lot of Chianti/Brunello (given we eat a lot of Italian foods), the cellar has a wide variety of stuff in it.
Just....
None of it is white.

Going with a buddy, and a host that I personally know, plus Las Pampas seems like a pretty full service gig, so I haven't done much planning.

We went a little later in March, but the fall weather is great. It was a little windy and cool in the mornings, but still wet wadeable (but bring waders just in case).

Lock up your valuables (like rings and watches, passports) in the hotel safe while in Buenos Aires (our concierge recommended this to us) and keep a photo of your passports on your phone.

Be prepared for a small riverside feast at lunch, including wine…the food and wine is outstanding…and the brown trout are big…you’re gonna have a blast! Don’t overlook fishing a mouse…not many fish them there, but after telling my guide I was heading to AK in a few months, he had tied up a few and I fished one on the last day I was there…produced the largest brown of the trip at 25”, and a kingfisher (I have the bird strike and fly away on video that my wife took sitting in the raft behind me)…
