NFR NFL 2023 Season

Congrat's on the win. I'm sure that it was fun to see in person. JG and MJ tied in the int. department. Both below their season average.

I considered tickets to LV prior to the season. I am glad that I went to Fort Collins to visit oldest daughter and see a music show instead. My beloved Patsies are patsies these days. The Pats offense is truly bad.

It's difficult to win a football game with a bad offensive line. There is not a whole lot that can be done to change it at this point in the season either.

Your Raiders were clearly a better football team yesterday.

They do this every year after the last undefeated team(s) take a loss.
I just don’t see anyone ever going 20-0 in todays game.

By the time Joe Buck got done introducing himself and Troy Aikman, i already had the mute button pressed.

Barely better…

Just win barely...

So does barely losing hurt less? Ask the Hawks...

My LA RAMS decisively won the NFC WEST this week. Total domination! The rebuild is ahead of schedule.
being in third is the new winning? And about their cornerback situation:
.
LOS ANGELES -- Rams starting cornerback Derion Kendrick was arrested early Monday morning and faces a felony charge of carrying a concealed weapon.
Los Angeles County jail inmate records indicate Kendrick was arrested after a traffic stop in Hollywood, several hours after the Rams' 26-9 victory over Arizona at SoFi Stadium.
TMZ reported officers found a gun and marijuana in Kendrick's car.

Thanks for the update. Are you the new 49er band wagon fan crime beat reporter?

Is it just me, but do the Chargers just seem like a team that no matter how hard they try, they just can’t get over the hump to be really good. That was a very winnable game last night.

I think it may have been the first Justin Herbert game I really watched but man, that guy has ZERO "feel".

The Chargers have a ton of talent on offense and defense, but something is missing with execution of their Xs and Os.

Herbert threw the ball at 100 mph, about 3' over his recievers heads. He just looked off last night, and of course the go for it on 4th down instead of taking the 3 points never helps either...
Chargers problems are hard to put a finger on, but coaching and play calling might play a part.
Would have helped if they could have run the ball better last night.

I understand saying this from a non 49ers fans perspective, but this just isn’t true. There’s been a handful of quarterbacks that did nothing in Shanahans system: Mullens, Beathard, hell, even garropollo didn’t hold a candle to what Purdy’s doing. It’s just lazy thinking saying he’s a system guy or that his weapons are doing the work. Am I saying he’s the next Montana, of course not. What I am saying is that he’s a good QB.
You aren't wrong. All QB's are "system" QB's. They all need to learn and run a system. The player has to have skill. They make the plays. There is no question of that. I have never seen the Shannahan system work with a QB devoid of skill. I have seen QB's improved greatly when the are in the system and I have seen them play better in that system than in others. I can't remember one that played worse. Goff maybe has improved?

Purdy may have all the attributes and skills needed to excel anywhere. There is no evidence to the contrary. I do wonder if the skills and attributes needed in that system are just a bit different than in other systems or if it is a system where the help the QB's more than other systems and let them play faster or better. It seems like most QB's play better for them than for other coaches.

I look at the QB's that have excelled in the Shannahan style systems that just don't really have the same success anywhere else. Mike and Kyle Shannahan, Mike McDaniel and McVay have all gotten a whole lot out of QB's that may not fit or have as much value somewhere else. Tua looked like a different player with Flores. Add McDaniel and he is a star. Shannahan Sr. won with Jake Plummer and Brian Griese, neither of whom won anywhere else. John Elway was great. When Mike Shannahan took over even he got better. Shannahan Jr. took pro bowl caliber Matt Ryan to an MVP level in a very short tenure. Brian Hoyer was 7-6 when starting for the browns when Mike Shannahan was the OC. All those QB's are NFL caliber QB's but in that system, they seem to get 8+ yards per attempt. Their tend to TD% skyrocket.

In the case of Miami and SF, they have surrounded the QB's with a lot of talent. Neither QB makes much money at all. When the QB gets paid commensurate with their stats, that talent will inevitably decline. You can't pay everyone. I am curious if either Mia or SF chooses to let the QB go or trades them in favor of keeping a stacked roster and betting on themselves to find another QB to run their offense. Both Shannahan and McDaniel are ballsy enough to do it. It would take balls though as well as those 2 QB's are playing.

Maybe Shannahan just know QB's better and everyone else should have seen Purdy's talent. Maybe Flores just could not see Tua's skills and could not capitalize on them. That could also be the case.
