Skagit & Pinks this weekend?

As is often with life, you sometimes have to plan far ahead to carve out some time to fish ... so I booked this weekend with friends to go fish for pinks. I think 2 years ago we went end of august and the pinks were in the river. This year it seems like it's a bit later run, and I was curious if the fish were up in the rivers yet? We have toons we were planning on floating Sedro to Burlington, but I'm not sure if that's too high up? Another option could be west of I5, but I'm not sure what's that like from a toon without anchors ... or should we just go to the beaches at mukilteo and fish off the beaches (toon or shore) ... hoping for some advice if anyone is willing to share.

I'd have a hard time believing they aren't in the Skagit already. They've been out in the salt for almost a month already and still coming in thick. I know they're catching them down south here in the Puyallup. Hopefully someone local to the Skagit will have more info!

I was sorta hoping that was the case, since I've seen people catching them in the Puyallup as well, appreciate the reply! I just haven't seen reports of them in the skagit yet ...

You could also call Holiday Sports. They'll have the run down of what is going on regarding the Skagit.
I'm sure the staff there has sold lots of pink stuff plus seen quite a few humpy cell phone pictures. ;)

I don't think that section is open until September 1. Until then, I believe it's only open below the Memorial bridge for 2 pinks only. Keep watching the Emergency regs however. 🙂

If where you wanted to fish on the Skagit is not open yet, you can still use your Watermasters to catch pinks in places that are open...a bit further south.
13 years ago, sheesh
