Puget Sound

Just one keeper (coho) for me today, but crab bait and 3+ lbs of fillets for the price of tying a clouser. Folks who bitch about license fees should go salmon fishing—pays for itself quickly.

I freaking love Puget Sound/Salish Sea/x̌ʷə́lč. Just got back from fishing in Colorado, and here’s the shit we were getting a “thrill” out of catching while you all were catching salmon.

Seriously, that was the fish of the day.

Nice work gents. I’ll be out on Wednesday….where and when undecided. Usually take one set up but gonna take two and experiment a bit. Wet wading will be in order for this adventure. Favoring am because it’s gonna be hot after 10am. 😳

WW we will see what that 6 weight can really do ? 😉

Great thread. Keep it going forward.

You Puget Sound wet waders get my respect. Even when it’s hot, I cannot imagine wading for hours without waders in the sound. Double that for winter wet waders. They exist, I have seen them multiple times on SRC beaches.

Sweet, thanks!

Always looking for good places to eat near fishing. Shrimp Shack, Skagit Valley Burgers, Geoduck Restaurant...actually such a list should be its own thread.

Please start one. Always looking for good places to eat while out fishing or doing other stuff.

After this past week, @Kfish and I highly endorse the two set-up plan. Three might even be appropriate. 😂

I hear ya. Now that it's mid-August, I'm torn between stepping back to a 6wt or up to an 8wt for my backup. 🤔

I've had a string of family commitments, but back in action next week. Don't know if I want to start taking ferry rides before or after the humpies stop running interference.🤣

6 wt…..live on the edge and enjoy the ride when it happens. 😉

I don’t know man, birds and stuff, why are you and Nick picking on me?
Pigeon guillemots, maybe a cool duck, herons of course, deer if you’re paddling a river, and yeah…seals. ;)
Wow Matt, sorry. Just figured you were seeing some cool animals that I was missing, that's all. 😉

Was going to head out this evening, but, the wind and tide would have made for some very sloppy seas off our point of interest.
