Exposed core

Well this is new for me. Less than a year old, the core exposed itself over a 12" chunk of an Airflo Streamer Max Short 8wt.
I sent it back to Airflo, let's see how the warranty dept under the new regime works. For what it's worth, I've never warrantied a line before.

I had that same thing happen to an Airflo Nymph line once. But I had bought it used for not much dough, and then used it a decent amount, so no way was I going to try to get a replacement.

Is that the older streamer max short?

Honestly not sure. It came out of newly branded box? I didn’t realize they “upgraded” the lines?
I did have two that were that color (I think they're green now) that the core started to separate from the coating, but it never broke through. This was also after a ton of use though.

Interesting, maybe it was just old stock from the shop. It’s been used, but not a ton, maybe 14 days since October?

yikes....still not down to Rio territory but not great.

I had that happen on a 40+ line years ago right behind the head on the running line. Took it back to the shop and got a replacement. I’ve never had another issue with Airflo since then and I’m on my third year using one as my primary beach line.

That’s about where my issue was

I’ve heard of hardcore, ska-core, grindcore and more, but now there’s exposed core. Wonders never cease.
