I changed over to a 3 fly cast on the type 6 with the green leech on point, olive willy up front.

I’ve quintupled a few times while casting a Sabiki rig with a fly rod, but never have I tripled for trout. Nice work!

I’ve never used a sabiki rig on a fly rod…what were you fishing for? In Hawaii, we would use sabiki rigs on spinning rods to catch opelu & akule (mackerel & big eye scad) for bait…and to eat.

Lots of things. Herring, pile perch, Sargent majors, any thing that schools up and eats little shrimp and stuff.

Here is a sketch. I'll start w/ knot tag ends, and after 2-3 fly changes tie on a new dropper. I use loop knots to attach the flies.
