Heading over to the Yakima tomorrow. Leaving Carnation about 11am.. should be there by 12:30pm or so.

If someone wants to join a crazy, cigar smoking, whiskey drinking, bamboo fishing dries and a dropper let me know. Actually I will probably use a stone fly with a wooley bugger or some other streamer.

Could meet in Snoqualmie, if you want to carpool, or probably easier to meet in Cle Elum. The fly shop there. Talked to Red's, the upper stretch is pretty clear. About 18" vis in the canyon. I'll fish til dusk and head home..

PM me if interested!

No takers! More fish and corn dogs for me! I'm leaving shortly and will post a report sometime this weekend! Fish on!

I also talked to a woman who was skiing or snowboarding.. asked about the snow conditions.. she said it was soft and the warm weather helped! Not the normal Cascade concrete! It was busy up there, and will be busier this weekend I assume!

Did you buy her a corn dog and get her number? 😉

I must have missed the part where you talked about the catching (trout?)..... The pictures of the river, looks like it was in great shape and a very nice day to be out and about.

shhh.. it.. don't tell anyone.. I caught 3 beers, half of one in my lap.. dooh! 3 cigars where sucessfully caught and released.. some whisk(e)y mysteriously disappeared.. damn fish were thirsty.. and met two cute women.. they were released.. actually threw the hook.. yeah, that's my story and i'm sticking to it! Will be back next week! Or up on the Sauk..don't let anyone know..

Back over in Cle Elum exploring. Just got a quick tour of the Cle Elum hatchery.. Great people!Screenshot_20250303_145900_Chrome.jpg

Pretty W word today but beautiful!!

Great day! Despite the strong winds, Troutwater is closed on Monday's and my car mirror on the passenger side was stolen last night in front of Mac & Jacks. At least they didn't break windows.. just ripped of the mirror and jacked the door.. worse than it was before.. long story.

Found some new shops, Covey Goods (https://coveygoods.com/).. the owner was closing as I got there, but it was a cute shop with lots of kitchen stuff.. some ideas for Mothers Day!

Also stopped at DruBru on the pass.. they're hiring a lot of new staff and planning on a spot in Issaquah.. talked with Taylor, the HR department.. she remembered me from my visit in Cle Elum and had served me a beer.. nice lady.. she'll contact me if something comes up. I would work as a beertender, but really more interested in Sales or something at a higher level that would challenge me.

Stopped by Creekside and Formula Brewing in Issaquah, in the morning before I went, and back to Formula to chat with the owner Danny. He's an avid fly fisher and excited to host an event for my fly tying nuts I'm setting up. Also stopped at Mac & Jacks, they don't have cameras, but talked with Will and the GM.. his name escapes me.. they will let us just show up. I had a beer, chatted about life and Will reminded me they do free tours on Saturday's at 3pm.. I'll be there this Saturday if anyone wants to meet up. You get a free class and 4 samples.. the samples add up to about 2 free beers.. although I do get "special" treatment and they don't make me wear my helmet.. LOL!

The Cle Elum hatchery was fun, met the assistant manager and he showed me around. Checked the holding ponds (18) and they were sorting fry's or the tiniest form. They would take them from the holding area, use a strainer and get rid of the dead ones.. do a rough count and load them in a tank on the forklift. The tank had an oxygen tank to keep the fish alive. I asked a few questions on aeration. They get water from a well, not the Yakima and are raising the fish for the Klickitat I believe... I assume the Columbia too.. maybe Curt or Steve can answer or here is the website to check out..

Talked to Redmond PD about my door side mirror being stolen last night!

I think they were trying to steal thr car.. might be some video from Postdoc nearby..let Officer Tibbets know and did some detective 🕵️‍♀️ work myself. Passed everything I knew to him via text.. will probably hear back from him tomorrow..

That sucks but perhaps the mirror might move up a notch (they're not really overrated). I'm still waiting for word on how the fishing was.. ;-)
