Women’s fly fishing numbers are growing..

There are a lot of amazing women fly fishers and guides out there! Nice article but it's been going on for quite a while!
 
Does Joan Wulff come to mind?

My wife's aunt is still fly fishing her JWF (Favorite) fly rod. She is in her 80's. She and her friends meet regularly on trips around the nation to fish.

I have run into several women's fly fishing clubs in my travels. They are definitely out there.

My grandmother, mother, and aunts all fly fished well into their senior years. Some - Aunt V in particular - were excellent fly tiers to boot. One of my aunts gifted me her trusty Winston 6 wt. After a bad ankle fracture ended her wading days, another aunt (Aunt S) deemed herself a “float princess” and booked float trips with female guides to scratch her river fishing itch. She preferred bamboo and dry flies.

One of my female cousins is pretty hard core. She is one of my fishing buddies, and spends more time on the family’s fishing property in MT than I do. When we do our annual summer fish fry she and I are the primary brookie slayers who hit smaller water in the area to fill the creels.

Or, let them go first and then show them how it is really done so that they can improve their skills....
