Winter Lake Report

After a fun trip to the local warmwater fishery a few days ago, I made the trek a few miles up the road to my favorite coldwater fishery.

It definitely felt like winter at the lake-



A jig leech on a type 3 or under a bobber

warmed things up-



I feel very lucky to have such great local winter time fishing opportunities.

It was an inversion day, so it was very nice up there.

The fish from this lake always fight hard.

Beautiful. I always figured that lake would be iced over by this time of year. Did you catch fish across the water column or were they all hugging the bottom?

Well my winter lake report today was a beautiful day for a boat ride! When it would get calm, fish were sipping midges…..just not mine. I went 0/2 but it just felt good to be on the water.
