Anybody used these for trolling flies.? I would be interested in using one for a bunny leech or bugger. What ya think.?

I use them all the time. I have never used them with a fly rod though so no idea if they cast. But since you are trolling… I run them with a kokanee rod/level wind reel, with an egg sinker 3 feet ahead . There are different size discs, and there does seem to be a sweet spot when considering trolling speed, fly size and disc size. Supposedly action can be modulated by moving the disc up and down the line using a bobber stop but I have never done that. I seem to always use classic feather wing streamers in a large size with the large disc and the fly looks like a rapala moving through the water. The super serious fly trollers around here use a fly line/lead core hybrid that lets the fly travel in a different pattern than the boat. A sink tip prob would do the same thing.
Oh, also, this site has good info:http://www.trollingflies.com/

I've been trolling between anchor stops and actually enjoy the process. Thanks..
