Are you tying it like how Bob Popovics ties in bucktail--where it wraps all the way around the shank?Craft fur on a big game shank (for a little weight). Really amazing how well something so simple moves so well...

yep.Are you tying it like how Bob Popovics ties in bucktail--where it wraps all the way around the shank?
cut back on the craft fur (in addition to color change), added a layer of bucktail to give it depth, then titan dubbed the head.

I'll tie up some bigger ones for offshore. I really like the color of the second one. You know, I'm also thinking that by adding a bit more bucktail, it'll hold a little bit of a larger shape when trolled as well.I would troll the hell out of both of those flies offshore.
Agreed.I would troll the hell out of both of those flies offshore.
That black on the pronghorn looks fantastic. Awesome saturation. Have you tried the same process for dyeing golden pheasant?? Awesome tieMuddled Panfish Pazooka

That one is 50lb powerpro (pulled some off of one of my tuna reels). The first was 20lb Rio bite wire that I never use (for its intended purpose) but I don't like how stiff it is. The 50lb PP seems like a good balance. What's the hook configuration, wire?
Seems it would yield a nice dark, highly glossy look to the GPThanks. I’ve dyed ringneck rump patches but not golden pheasant; will have to give it a try.
