A little rough, but thats what dashboard ties tend to look like. I’m not going to be on the river till next week so I did this one in the driveway.

hook - WFC Model 3 #12
thread - SemperFli Nano Silk 50d orange
butt - Ice Dub Callibaetis
body - deer hair
rib - tying thread
wing - Congo Hair shiner tan
collar/head - deer hair
indicator - 1mm foam orange

Regards,
Scott

Bulk the abs and head up a bit more… 😉
What size of hook or how long overall ?
I shoot for the big bugs… 3/4” to 1” OA head/body not including the wings
I used a Firehole Sticks 718 (all purpose, extended length, 2X gap, medium wire), size 16.

I tried another one first (same hook), tying in the feather tips for wings without clipping the feather butts and then winding the butts together for the hackle. It looked very messy but would fish. This one I tied the tips in separately, then built the head, then tied in the hackle normal dry fly style. I like the look of this bug and will tie it in black with some kind of sighter, too!

I've become a Terrestrial Fundamentalist. Whereas I recognize the legitimacy of other beliefs, I know in my heart there is truly only One. So we must be gracious with those on different paths, understanding the struggle is both real and hard, and the path to true enlightenment is always long and arduous.

Call him Area 51 because he’s always got extra terrestrials.
