Maybe a Grey Drake? Tail/underbody could be a tiny bit longer and didn’t compress as much as I like when spiral wrapping the body (I’ll use elk on next one).

hook - WFC Model 28 #10
thread - Uni 6/0 black core - 12lb mono
tail/underbody - moose body hair
body - deer hair
wing - Congo Hair white
hackle - grizzly
shoulder - pheasant rump

Regards,
Scott

This is size 18 Tiemco 226BL and it is pretty small. I am going to tie few on 2488 H even smaller for our waters here, but not sure if makes sense to go that small for PNW.

Looks like fly is 4.95$ USD. I know Tiemco is expensive hook but 5$ is a lot.

Curious about the link, as their photo seems to show an up eye, which the TMC2488 doesn't have.

This is TMC 226BL but I will tie few on 2488H (for sure my favourite). I wish it is more affordable.

Have you fished (caught fish) on the 226? If so, has it held up? At one point I tied up a bunch of flies on that general style--not sure if it was the 2487 or the non-h 2488, and those things would open up even on very modest fish (like 10" or 12"). Really frustrating. I think it was the 2487, as I remember speculating that the down eye was making the leverage angle worse.

But the 2488h is a great hook. Makes it a little tougher to keep flies svelte, but it doesn't bend out at all.
