Poor Mans Fly
Ling, lake trout, tiger musky fly??? Hell, maybe try on tuna this year! Hmmm…spawn head, dragon tail tuna fly. That might really annoy the traditionalists out there

I don't tie many doubles for any kind of fish, but decided to change it up for this little smallie fly. Kinda similar to my basic style of tiger musky fly, just smaller....and with a back hook instead of a shank....so I guess, not really similar at all! It's smaller than it looks at only about 4-5"

Tying up some orange thread underbodies with 15 lbs mono and bead(s) setup for back hook; over that will be pink floss down n back, fl. apricot marabou; pink thread head. Front hook is the same recipe, omitting the tangerine seed bead (stop); the front hook bend, barb, point are clipped off.
For SRC, I will be tying just the back hook for single egg n meat look.

speaking of...(weird lead in, I know)...I did just order some tails from a new vendor recommended by a local guy who as been chasing those critters for several years. We'll see if they come close to comparing to my current favorite vendor. Who knows? they may be better....but maybe not.
I've gotta say, I'm really diggin' all of these streamers coming off of your vise lately!

I’ve had similar experiences with superglue. Now I install the eyes with a small drop of superglue, cover with UV resin, and zap them in place. Less mess.
