Technically speaking, Daiichi, Gamakalsu and Fulling Mill refers to them as; 90-degree Jig hooks. No where did I find them descripted as up-turned eye hooks. So, in reality that's our actual true fly hook terminology lesson for today.

I started tying a couple months ago because I enjoyed looking at the work posted by users here.
The proportions of my flies are still inconsistent and I regularly use too much of all materials but it’s fun and they’re getting better.
I really appreciate the good work, enthusiasm, and solid information displayed here.

Keep up the good work. I think it was A.K. best who said, “You really don’t know a fly until you tie the first hundred dozen”.
