This might be really stupid or an absolute fish catcher:

Let me know what you think
I like it. Ever flash your uv light over other materials? Many of em light up like that, and I’ll intentionally include or not include materials that do that. I have a peach schlappen that lights up but to the naked eye blends in well with white. I’ll try to get a pic of it later onThis might be really stupid or an absolute fish catcher:

Beautiful fly!
Peccary Pheasant Tail Nymph
Nymph Fly Pattern
Hook - Mustad 3399, 3906 or equivalent
Thread - Orange (a little hot spot)
Tail - Pheasant tail fibers
Body - Peccary hair
Wing case - Pheasant tail fibers
Thorax - Peacock herl
Legs - Tips of the pheasant tail wing case pulled rearward
Apply crazy glue to the hook shank prior to wrapping the peccary hair forward or coat the body with uv resin for durability
Maybe pick up the pedestal base so you can place the vise wherever you want?Diggin' the new vice. using the rotary, and uv resin, will take some practice. Still can't settle on a spot for me to set up.View attachment 5513

I may at some point, thanks for the suggestion. I chose not to do pedestal now because it seemed I was always looking more down and my neck hurt. This works well as I move place to place. My sewing area is getting ready for kids jammies.Maybe pick up the pedestal base so you can place the vise wherever you want?
So here’s the pics - one of the flies in normal light and one under black light. The top fly and the one second from bottom have the peach schlappen in it. I also placed peach and uv pink schlappen feathers next to them.I'd love to see it!
Actually I don’t think you’re gonna need the blade holderSomehow the razor blade holder didn't get added but I can tell the sturdy vice and ability to rotate to trim a head will help with muddled things. I like the colors in these strips, hope the fish do, they are similar to what's been working.

Very cool, thanks for sharing! So here’s the pics - one of the flies in normal light and one under black light. The top fly and the one second from bottom have the peach schlappen in it. I also placed peach and uv pink schlappen feathers next to them.
I find it interesting the colors that pop under uv. The top fly was colored with prisma color chart and the bottom was pink finesse chenille colored with neon pink sharpie.
All of this to say I don’t really know how it affects or enhances the effectiveness of a fly, but it’s nice to have an idea of what some colors do to be able to be intentional about it.
Actually I don’t think you’re gonna need the blade holder
IMO another gimmick
Holding the blade flat for fine shaving is money
