What's in your vise?

It doesn't get much easier than this:
mini-mop tail, 2 pheasant feathers wrapped up the short shank hook, brass eyes (I prefer more subdued, but you can color these with copic markers)

Nice. Very similar to John Montana’s hybrid pattern, which has worked well for me in the past.

yeah, it's a little bigger (or a lot) than the hybrid. I basically wanted something in my box that was big enough to see better (which the hybrid is definitely not). Fortunately it was working very well yesterday.

Big is good, especially with my old eyes! 😂

Good to know, all I tied up were hybrid ish flies but I do have some bigger flies tied up, Grillo’s great carpholio. But fly size wasn’t my issue, it was the 5 year old in the boat with us :ROFLMAO:

Appreciate the comment Tom just don't look to close, my stuffs pretty rough. But like you and most everyone on here I've fished along time and have a pretty decent sense of what works and doesn't at least in the fisheries I'm familiar with.

NOT a hybrid (it's a motherfuckin' worm-clam)

Bucktail backside, pheasant, mini-mop. So so dirty, yet so pure at the same time.

Playing around with tabbed eyes....

Super rough prototype, but I think it'll still fish.
