Originally a Texas panfish fly; tied on a larger hook it should work for carp, too.


hook - WFC Model 16 #6
thread - SemperFli 8/0 tan
tail - barred marabou dyed tan
rib - small wire gold
body - dubbing hare’s ear
shoulder - fluff from marabou stem
wing - barred marabou dyed tan
legs - Sili legs gold
head - dubbing hare’s ear

Been tying worms the last couple of days as well. These patterns are great and get a lot of attention from SRC but the hookup ratio on them the couple times I fished them last year was ehh with the hook in the back. Trying some with the hook upfront. Lou’s above has the hook in the middle. Between the three options, hopefully we find the sweet spot to tie these go forward!

Almost the same as a mostly black one I posted earlier that swam like a half dying fish.
I went with nayat over bucktail for the tail with a rattle on top of the rear shank, then mostly bucktail a flash with a counterbalance up front. Titan dub tied reverse with a more vertical profile rather than tied in the round as per usual for me. I'll probably throw some eyes on this one as well. On the smaller side at ~7"
