I picked it up at a legit old barn sale about 15 years ago. Scored another pan and sweet chef knife too.

If you rinse it while it's hot, you'll never have to use as much as a sponge.

I have one just like that and use it all the time, works great! I also use an unsoaped Dobie sponge on my CI after the chainmail, sometimes.

My boule expanded too much and fused to the side of the Challenger bread pan today. About 3 square inches of tightly fused crust, worked great on that.

I switched from my chain to a chain covered rubber sponge (?).
I use real hot water and lightly scrub away the leftover cooking crud. This keeps my fingers out of the boiling water!

My one stipulation when we bought our new oven was that it had a flat-top. I paid the extra $100 and got the cast iron version. Worth every penny.
