What's Catching You Fish?

Grizzly saddle? I love how subtle this fly is, Brian, yet how effective it is.

Not as subtle as I thought! ;-) Only because I don't have Bill's Bodi braid .... or peacock krystal flash (do have Senyo's hot orange dub). I'm heading to Camp Runamuck this coming Sunday, I need to tie up something out of the ordinary for me (that would be something like this fly!).

(I will be running a muck at Runamuck)

I didn’t bring a lot of materials with me to NOLA, so I’ve had to make due, but this little baitfish has been getting a lot of eats fishing around the brackish canal next to my job site. Another new to me species interrupted my redfish session tonight, small but kinda stoked on it! You never know what it could be when the line goes tight around here. My kind of fishing for sure.

Hell yea sailfin cats are great! Other than the slime the leave on the leader

These flies worked on a reservoir in NE Oregon last week. The fly on the bottom was to see how gaudy of a fly they would take. The lower Higa SOS was after about 20 trout munched on it under a bobber. One fish took the black jig leech with the orange bead right next to my pontoon boat as I was rolled the line to get the next cast and retrieve started. So, I guess that mean’s Billy’s jig fly can be used for top water, even with a tungsten bead. E6A1BBD5-318E-4800-991C-EDAD9D0C7660.jpeg8D25742D-D836-4426-8AC8-8D3E6CE0302F.jpeg

I like that higas sos. It was my "change for a bit" fly today.

I like it as well. My first clue was not rising fish but swallows flying around close to the water. Needed a chiromomid pattern and that one caught my eye when I opened that box. They crushed it!
And thanks! I learned about that fly from your posts.

The top left fly caught this and 13 others today. The bakers dozen. 😊

YES! Finally someone that knows the truth of this color combo. I can GUARANTEE this fly works in any west side lakes. Burnt orange, black and add olive flash, literally the last week have had more people pissed at me than ever before.

Never even met them, but for some reason when you’re the only guy, let alone fly fisherman, slaying fish when the bite is off you’re instantly hated. Happened now multiple lakes.
