about to go see The Odyssey with my kid....a book that I was supposed to read in HS (probably college too), but never did.

Then we're seeing the latest Spiderman flick at the end of next week....love me some Marvel. pure entertainment plain and simple...
 
I have been listening to the NHRA cars racing at Pacific Raceways all afternoon from my house 15 miles away. Now watching it on TV on FoxSports.

Just saw the Odyssey…epic film.

Saw the Bride on the plane…it may be the most interesting film I’ve seen in awhile…it was not what I was expecting (which was a horror film about the bride of Frankenstein…it actually was a love story of sorts)…Jesse Buckley should have been nominated for an Oscar for her performance (but she did win an Oscar for another film)…
 
Saw The Odyssey this week. Thought it was very well done. They could have turned down the volume during storm and battle scenes.
It made my bones rattle.

'The Thinking Game' on Prime, about the brilliant Demis Hassabis of DeepMind, who has been at the very forefront of AGI/Artificial General Intelligence.
Demis took all the resources of DeepMind to solve the 'folding protein' problem which is at the root of all human disease, and did just that in an enormous breakthrough for biological science.
Once cracking the code, Demis had DeepMind model over 200 million proteins and then make that data base available for free, and is now used by research scientists around the world in their work to cure diseases as well as solve environmental problems.
Absolutely worth watching.
 
We started Lioness on Paramount+ last night and got hooked, staying up too late. Spy/military thriller series.
 
Finally getting around to watching Ted Lasso. Saw the first season right before the World Cup, so it was good to have some context about soccer culture. I appreciate the battle between American toxic positivity and British sweariness.
 
Saw the latest Spiderman over the weekend with my kid. Loved it.....they loved it! Lots of movie theater popcorn was consumed....perfect.
 
Re-visited Guy Ritchie's The Gentlemen last night. Great film. Great plot twists and turns.
 
'Spiral' on MhZ, which has a great variety of euro noir...compare it with The Wire...noir series like The Killing, The Bridge, etc, float my boat
