What rod should i buy next?

you might want to look for a 7 pc rod in different line weights. Also you probably need a hat from the new shop in Montana

I actually have a 7 pc Orvis 5wt travel rod somewhere.. and yes, I'll get a hat from them!!

Well, that is a good start, Bill! I wouldn’t be able to fit a car in there if that were my garage. I am slowly emptying my 1,000 sq ft storage unit, aka off-site garage, that I loaded up when I moved out of my Leavenworth house. It is a slooowww process as I am downsizing into a (temporary?) one bedroom apartment. Just the other day, I found two big bins of hats: 1 bin of ball cap style, including some with long neck flaps, and 1 bin of various broad-brimmed hats (straw/fiber type, wool felt, waterproof, cotton). Don’t even ask me about rods or waders or boots, let alone shoes, LOL! Yep, downsizing is a slow process but hope will be worth.

I have a corner filled with rods in the house.. and then there's the bags and boxes of materials for rod building and tying.. and then the wine, whiskey and beer... and I do want to get a pram and/or a watermaster style of boat... it's a rough life I live!!

Where's that "Old Man" Hat I sent you.?? Do you still have it. How come you don't wear it.

Don't ride your bike much, eh?πŸš΄β€β™€οΈ

I've got four of my own in the garage. Still can't seem to plant my arse on one since Covid hit.

Before you get your next rod, consider prioritizing some new wading boots. Those Birkenstocks you are wearing might be comfy, but prob don’t offer great traction in the river.

The answer to your question is obviously the Sage R8.

You know rods, you know graphite and bamboo. You know actions of rods. You have lots of rods to compare to...

So I am patiently waiting for your review of a Sage R8 in 9' 5 or 6 weight.

When all is said and done - sit back, have a nice sip of a great scotch and light up a nice cigar and really tell us what you really think...

I'm waiting for Sage R8+ with nanotechnology and the phone charger built-in.. I'll add a fighting butt that doubles as a flask and have a cigar lighter built into the grip.. Leland Miyawaki and I are in the development stage currently. We had to forgo the built in fish finder as it affected the balance and looked like crap!! True story!!

PS - I only use even numbered rods unless they're bamboo and old.. geez, doesn't everyone do that!!
