What is this plant?

I find this in many of the Basin lakes, my iPhone doesn't know, neither do I. What is it, please?

The link that G_Smolt posted would definitely be helpful. I tried zooming it in as much as my computer allowed and it's still difficult to tell. My best guess is that's it's either Elodea or Myriophyllum.

Might be helpful. Tough to tell from that pic.
I went to the giant cataract lake in the link you provided and struck out - but hey, thanks!

This plant has a fairly thick and tough stem and seems to grow in water from maybe 5' deep to 10' deep, mucky bottom. This time of year the top of the plant is rotten, kicking through a forest of them muddies up the local area.

Two lakes I fish fairly often have these damned plants growing (and apparently multiplying) which creates a few "false" takes.

Thanks Bob - I can't tell from my faulty memory or my lousy photo which of the two it might or might not be... and now that the top is disintegrating it might be hard to get a picture.
