What have you done for your boat lately?

Finally bit the bullet and bought a SpinRX anchor pulley. $80 off Amazon.

Not sure if anyone else's pyramid anchor spins as much as mine, but hoping this solves it.
The last straw was not on a river, but actually at Lenice. The rope twisted so much I couldn't even get the anchor back up. In fact, it was a good 3' under the water. Had to reach overboard and just yard the damn 25# anchor back up. Cursed a blue streak, but at least I didn't pull any muscles.

Anyone else try this product yet? It seems pretty solid. Not sure I like the somewhat small pin they used. Guess we'll find out.

It dosent work, I went back to strait lined to the anchor. My anchor rope would get so twisted I couldnt drop the anchor even with a second swivel at the termination.

Damn, I should've asked before I bought it. Haha!
I think mine gives me trouble because the anchor hangs just enough into the water that it spins when I'm rowing.

The extra pulley really makes for a lighter pull as long as there's no twists. My tennis elbows really appreciate that, but if straight-lining works better then may have to do that. The front is just a 10# mushroom on a Scotty mount.

Well, I'll give it a shot and report back.

What kind of rope are you using? Are you swinging in circles while anchored? I've NEVER had an issue with my anchor lines (and my pyramid anchors). I use 3/8" braid.

3/8" braid Nope, no swinging in circles while anchored.
I suspect the anchor spins while I'm rowing because it's about a 1/4 to a 1/3 of the way in the water. I'm going to try various methods to keep it fully out of the water. Considering the fairly small tubes on my Striker, the easiest would be just to keep it inside the raft for long rows like on Lenice. I also wonder if it twirls on the way down and/or way up. I'll see how it goes on my local lakes with this new swivel. I have a couple lakes where I like to row or electric motor to the far side. It would be about like rowing out to my favorite spots on Lenice.

Mine does the same thing after a couple trips, where I have to remove the rope and untangle on land. It happens more after fishing in 45’ and dropping anchor multiple times. Hope it works for you.

I think it is the stretching of the braided rope during use that gets them to curling up. You might have better luck with a paracord type rope.

Got my G3 1448 spring of 2021. Wanted to put the Yamaha on the back but $$$$ was to much.
Looked at Tohatsu but didn't like the look. So a long wait is over.

Suzuki 9.9 is detuned from the 20 hp. Hope to start the brake in Tuesday, weather looks good. Added a hr/tach meter. Coffee Pot and others I'm coming. YouTube is our friend.
As someone that bought two new Suzukis last year, you're going to be very happy with it. For current generations, I'd personally take the Suzukis over the yamahas.

have a 2024 Tohatsu 9.9, at the start of lake season here in the Cascades am ordering the ECI reflash to 20+ hp from Outboard EFI. Part of the HP upgrade is removing the air restricter washer and changing the current prop to a 10 x 11. $700 all in - which I should have spent on the 20 hp in the first place...we live and learn.
The same service is offered for Suzuki as well. This is a legit company that has a large customer base among the saltwater flats crew.

Yep 20 hp block choked off. Went to Lk. Goodwin it was a nice day. 6000 planted day before so drug a hook here and there, no bites. Got buzzed by this guy, I moved he landed.

3.5 hrs of running. Fast enough for now. The was hatching everywher.

Moved it to the other side of the garage...along with a bunch of other crap so I can squeeze both rigs into the garage in case we get the 2" hail that all the "meteorologists" are warning about. The garage needed a good cleaning...and I needed a good workout so all good.
Guess we'll see how it goes. Be safe out there!
