I’m not sure what you know about Meditations, so forgive me if if you already know this, but it’s not really a book. It’s a compilation of Marcus Aurelius’s journal so it doesn’t read like a book. It wasn’t written with the intention of anyone else reading it.

It doesn’t have chapters but it’s broken into “books”. Book 1 is an amazing tribute to everyone he ever learned anything from. It goes name by name and what they taught him. It’s an incredible exercise in gratitude.
