I listen to a lot of vintage jazz, popular, and some pretty obscure novelty tunes from yesteryear, but Marty Stuart and the Fabulous Superlatives have been showing up a lot more in my YT feed, and it's really fun to listen to. Today I had a "Wings of Pegasus" analysis video show up of a Stuart solo acoustic mandolin (shredding) performance during a concert in 2011 that is just phenomenal. I thought the 1972 Dueling Banjos TV performance I posted earlier of a 14 year old Stuart in 1972 with Lester Flatt is pretty darned impressive but the precision technique in this solo acoustic performance with "nowhere to hide clams" is just mind blowing. He actually has to quiet the audience from clapping along to get through his composition with ever increasing speed.
