What are you listening to?

If you like tunes with sax, you might also like Mindi Abair. Saw her at Jazz Alley and she put on a great show.

Yeah, l do like Mindy Abair. Mostly I like sax blended into a good song, though.
Been too long since I've been to Jazz Alley. Last time there was Peter White before he passed.

In 1952, Johnny and his brother, Dorsey Burnette, and their mutual friend Paul Burlison formed the band that became known as the rock and roll trio. His career was cut short on August 14, 1964, when he was killed in a boat crash at age 30.

I've been playing guitar since '65. I think alternate tunings sound great but I didn't do much of it. I've attended clinics and concerts by a couple of amazing solo players who use alternate tunings, multiple capos, etc. and just work tunings into the show while communicating with the audience.
I came across another altered tuning performance by Mr Cool Jazz, Kenny Burrell; an all-time fave. At 5:26 into this solo performance in the middle of the piece he drops the 6th string to D and when he plays the note it's dead on.... Wow!

I listened to this from start to finish. Thank's Mr Miller

Also this one. They both showed up on my Spotify playlist last night . Had not heard the Sammy Hagar one before.

I saw Wanda a few years ago, she expressed much respect for Jack White and his work ethic. She still brought it, great show.
The sweet girl with the nasty voice. Also like Tongue Tied. She would have been really great to see. Would be great to travel back to the late 50s and see her then. So many from the early days are forgotten. I was hatched in 59 but had older sisters and glad they were into the music my parents hated.
