What are you listening to?

This was a favorite of an old girlfriend of mine, the version by Steve Winwood and Blind Faith. She was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer not too long ago and I brought this in and played it for her today. Instant new favorite. Thanks for posting it.
Thanks for the note.

Allison Krause does a nice cover of this song too, I just heard it for the first time a few days ago. That said, I'm partial to Bonnie Raitt's version. Her voice is magnificent and Lowell George's slide guitar really shines.

I’ve been on a big Sparks kick, since seeing the documentary on Netflix. Great 80s band that is still making great new music today.

I liked them in the 70's, quirky and odd but a couple of great early albums.
Kimono my House, Propaganda and Woofer in Tweeters Clothing....

I was surprised to find out how active they still are- did a full collaboration with Franz Ferdinand recently.

From Friday Nights concert. Buddy is a very old man and you could tell that his best is long behind him now but to stand beside a man who has had THIS much influence on Rock N Roll through all the years was such a fulfilling experience and I can say "i saw him" before he moves on. The sound of an old Fender Strat playing through a Fender Bassman dimed out made me emotional hearing it for the first time.

Since I am a guitar I was more interested in his famous strat as he was walking by. LOL 1650911156512.png

He always puts on a good show, still walking through the crowd tearin' it up I guess.

Considering the injustice of Russia invading Ukraine, this song came to mind. Reminding me of how lucky we are to live in a Democratic Republic that still provides basic freedoms. "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness". Not Jon Baptiste or George Michael's Freedom (both interesting), but Richie Haven's:

If I remember correctly, he just went up there with his guitar and improvised that song on the spot.
