Posting Jaco took me back to WR, there is just nothing I do not love about this number (I forgot how much), from Jaco's incredible play to Wayne Shorter's masterful sax, Perter Erskine's subtle drumming, and of course, Joe Zawinul - RIP both Mr. Pastorius and Zawinul:

My tastes range from Fleetwood Mac (62-79), Zeppelin, Nazareth, BOC, BTO, Molly Hatchet , Hall and Oats, 80's pop radio such as Pat Benetar, Blondie, etc .
A lot of what I listen to now is instrumental with sometimes heavy nueovo flamenco overtones: Ottmar Liebert, Luna Negra, Al DiMeola. Also groups like STS 9.
Freaks out my coworkers when I listen to Puerto Rican music at work. They've tried to put me in preconceived boxes , thinking i listen to country (can't stand it) or old rock (eh maybe, sometimes) because I'm one of the oldest in the workforce there.
If you think about it, I kind of showed that in the Old Thread on a site that will remain nameless.

I first heard Jaco with Pat Metheny on the Bright Size Life album. I remember when Heavy Weather was released the following year, WOW!
I was amazed to find out Jaco was originally a drummer and also played drums on the Teen Town track.

Checking out the new Sabaton album today. Nothing groundbreaking by any means. Its Sabaton, you know what you're getting with these guys. Pretty basic power metal focused on songs about war history. Still, I'll always have a soft spot for these guys due to my own history. When I got custody of my son when he was 4, and it was just him and I for a number of years, he absolutely loved Sabaton and I would play their cds in the car everywhere we went. To this day it's his favorite band and something we always kinda enjoyed together.
Not a bad album overall.
