What are you listening to?

I think "Summertime" was one of Ella Fitzgerald's signature songs, such a great recording.

Here's one a bit more, uh, high?

That album's one of my earliest memories. I still have my Dad's copy that he got when it came out.

In other news, Krontonamo rocked out at Graham's in Glacier last night and we're now available on all the streaming services.
Krontonamo on Spotify

Edit: If anyone's near Custer tomorrow we're playing at 1pmreceived_1518438225414777.jpeg

I don't know how to link something. I just watched Otis Gibbs' visit to the Jerry Garcia exhibit at the Bluegrass Hall of Fame.
Very worthwhile to see some of Jerry's legacy.

I use the share tool on YouTube to paste a link to the YouTube video. Spotify links didn't work for a lot of users here.

I'm finally taking a gander at the Kerry King solo album...really diggin' a few of the songs. I absolutely love his powerful guitar playing, but man, those vocals just don't do it for me.

This is really great!

So is this:

again, I absolutely love the music on this one, but those vocals....

The US military bands have some great musicians.

I really enjoyed the "Americana rock" albums of "Bruce Hornsby & the Range" featuring Hornsby's distinct syncopated piano style. Unfortunately I lost track of Hornsby post - "the Range".
Recently I've been listening to Cory Wong. I love his funk stuff, and was blown away by his strings arrangement to a funk corporate promo composition he was commissioned to write for DHL Corp.

As a guitarist that began playing (rock-pop-R&B...) in 1965, I feel extremely fortunate over the last 20+ years to be involved in quite a number of fully orchestrated productions that had been a dream of mine since I was a young kid. But honestly, I'm a hack.

Wong is a Hornsby fan and had contacted him about doing a collaboration. Hornsby sent him demo piano-synth recording that was done while flying on an airplane(!) complete with the background noise. After a lot of work, here is a pre-release result. Wow, just WOW!
