What are you listening to?

One of the first records I bought with saved paper route money in 64-65? Rode my bike a few miles downtown to Slamps music store to buy the Meet the Beatles album. Over time(a long time it had gotten real grimy though stored well. I washed and carefully dried it maybe 40 years passed. Sounded lousy. So I researched its value and found it to be a 3rd US pressing. Not of particular value . I decided to try something I had read and researched after many years in 2016. I finished the peeling and realized all the grime pulled off when glue had dried. Carefully washed and it sounded great! Thought I would share this. I would not do this on a record of great value though… meaning hundreds of dollars or more.IMG_4301.png

I was talking with a friend today about Chris Newman. I last saw him in Oregon City at a small venue with his ensemble in 2017-or 2018. He passed not long after…I always enjoyed our talks over the years during my lunch time walks on my record shop route. I was actively collecting then.

This one really resonates with me....especially this version....but the song itself really does.
