I've been thinking about those statements. I grew up with, lived with, listened to, and played with too many gifted musicians; some of whom could make great music on any instrument they touched, that turned to self-medication through alcohol and drugs, possibly-probably to quiet demons of both un-diagnosed, and clinically diagnosed mental illness. It's affected me since preadolescence. Some became so unreliable and abusive to those around them that nobody wanted to work with them. Some sold truly wonderful and lyrical musical instruments for drugs. Some became homeless dumpster diving shadows of their former selves, the type you see dressed in rags mumbling to themselves while stumbling down an urban street. However, I know and get to play with a few gifted and thriving musicians and believe it's not the occupation. The tragic side of "S,D,R&R" (or similar) always makes me wonder to myself, "What could have been?".Any musician seems like a hazardous occupation. Nirvana, Sublime, STP, AIC, Soundgarden, Linkin Park, Dimebag and Vinny(Pantera), Jeff Henneman(Slayer), Wayne Static, Deftones, off the top of my head. Basicly any band from my formative years is incomplete or dead.
... Charlie Parker, Billie Holiday, Brian Jones, Keith Moon ... Dolores O'Riordan, Amy Winehouse ... hazardous occupation.
... and probably has helped lead me to enjoy other styles of music (came on KBRD as I finished typing above)I've been thinking about those statements. Thanks for sharing both versions; one of my favorite songs, either the classic RnR version or with full orchestra.
speaking of rabbit holes....I can't get enough of this guy.
BTW, I fucking hate this damn song, but it's funny as hell (to me)
and then there's this....

That will cause this sort of mania. Metaled Denver, ala Bob …yeah its good for you to hate that sheet.
You have tweens i used to teach them as a sub … scared many teachers, i liked em cuz within the realm of school requirements i was good at zinging them back in a pc kind of way but their taste in music sucked…not even...my kid's just a couple of years from a teenager....but damn, I like the OGs and I love this version!
