What are you listening to?

Saw that Bobby Whitlock, co-founder with Clapton of Derek & the Dominos, passed away. Pulled out my CD and listened - what a great album! Whitlock co-wrote most of the songs, and this is my favorite. The studio version with Duane Allman as a guest guitarist is phenomenal, but this live version (without Duane) really highlights Whitlock's B3 playing as a counterpoint to Eric's guitar work:

Another great Derek and the Dominoes song:

Three Dog Nightmare (Chuck) has been on my wish list for some time. Not a cheap read but sounds like an excellent book.
I’m not tuned in enough to know about the book. So many of them succumbed to the drug scene back then (apparently heroin in this case), it’s good to hear he made it back out of it.

We used to listen to this song during its peak in the high school cafeteria during study hall… we had a very cool Humanities teacher that allowed some great music to blast over the speakers. “Out in the Country” had me dreaming of being “..out where the rivers like to run…”. A far superior place to be in the moment as far as I was concerned. Not a lot of studying got done but no one really cared, the then current “top 30” were being hard wired into our brains for eternity.
