Let freedom ring with a shotgun blast!

Some good old angry Machine Head....the perfect driving music as I prepare to run into Aberdeen

Saw them Sat. in Vancouver. It was a remarkably loving show. They just seem to be so kind.
Susan's guitar work was excellent. Her performance was the best that I have seen from her.
Derek's sound is etched into my brain and has been for years.
One of the greatest slide guitarists of our time...even when he's not playing slide, he attacks the guitar like a slide guitarist...I've also seen them several times over the last 12 years...

Since this is the thread for all the music consumers here I was hoping you could help me/my band out. We're about to release our first album and are wondering how people consume music these days.

Do you buy hard copies and if so, what's your preferred medium - CD/tape/vinyl?

Do you buy digital copies from Bandcamp or other?

Do you mainly use streaming services like Spotify or YouTube?

I exclusively use Spotify.

I’ve got to be honest, I haven’t bought a cd in years and no longer have a record player for vinyl. No streaming services either for me.
The radio is my main source of music (classic rock) with YouTube being second. I’m probably an oddball these days with my music sources.

I stream almost always now. I still have 3-400 cds that get Iistened too at times and have not done vinyl for decades.
Have not purchased a stand alone recording of any kind for a very long time, but consume music on a daily basis via streaming on Tidal, probably 3+ hrs a day, as I can listen while working on my phone.

Bamdcamp returns more $ to the artist than virtually any other hosting platform. Got some friends that are pretty happy with it.
I've got other releases on Bandcamp (edit: and Spotify too) and have heard the same thing from other musicians as well. But it seems it's not as ubiquitous as Spotify. Maybe in a million years of streams we'll have enough money to buy a gumball!

Personally speaking I do most of my listening via Spotify and/or YouTube. I do occasionally buy digital via Bandcamp. Haven't bought a hard copy of anything in probably a decade; can't play CDs or tapes anymore but do spin vinyl on occasion. Just can't justify the prices for new vinyl these days when it's all online and I'm trying to minimize "stuff". I'll spend money on live shows and merch though.

The new band is trying to decide where to maximize our distribution. Our expectations on returns are low but we don't want to completely waste our time/$$$ either.
