What Are You Eating?

What method do you choose to do your roast? About to put mine in also.
I do that parsnip, carrot and shallot thing in my Instapot frequently as I love parsnips. A cup of chicken broth in the Instatpot for 4 minutes perfectly cooks the veges and then I use the broth to make gravy and pour it over the top. A couple of chicken thighs in the air fryer, some garlic bread and a crisp white wine makes for a hearty and healthy meal. And fast!

Nothing as special as seared foie gras or caviar (@Brute - those dishes look so delicious!):

We've been to the Torrance farmers market twice now. The persimmons are so sweet; like candy. The oranges are cara cara variety and are incredibly juicy with an almost grapefruit flavor. We just can't get fruit like this in the Basin. Getting spoiled.
I grew up in Torrance, so always nice to see a reference. I think we chatted about this last year.

Anyway, I made green chile for dinner last night, and served it over omelettes for brunch today.

Also, smoked my first brisket today. Turned out really well. Got a smoker for Christmas, so looks like I’ll be doing this some more.

Venison stew.
1000015746.jpg

Found a lonely haunch in the big freezer, so I rounded up the last of the garden produce (and some store-bought) and the last bag of 2024 golden chanterelles and made a bitchin' pot of stew. Topped it with some flatleaf and enjoyed it with the part of the Cotes du Rhone Villages bottle that didn't go in the stew to start.

Now that speaks to me.
