Unfortunately where I live if one feels the need for a sushi/sashimi fix it calls for a DYI production. A chirashi bowl with unagi, mirugai, hamachi and ikura with vinegared rice and Shiso Furikake. Yumm.

From a few different places. The hamachi from Uwajimaya, mirugai from Central Market, unagi from a specialty grocery here in town.

I’ve smoked a 9 lb pork butt roast for turkey day, I’m getting tired of turkey. I’ll try and get a pic after it’s cut.
