Ugh...i just saw the same thing on my phone. Dang man. Still hopeful, but may have head down the super secret lakes in the warmer zone.
I see that our friend, Mother Nature, may drop some snow tonight and tomorrow morning. No big deal, Tuesday's forecast low temperature is 9F. Yeah, 9F. I saw two guys ice fishing Moses Lake yesterday, looks like their ice fishing house will say safe into March.
To those anglers looking for the March 1 opener: keep your fingers crossed. Despite the low nighttime temps, the days are above freezing, and the days are getting longer.
I have seen some open water on smaller lakes.

I agree. One of the desert lakes that's so popular and opens March 1st, just continues to shrink in size and volume. It sure doesn't look like this anymore:
I don't know if this can be reversed.

I've barbecued meatloaf on both a Weber charcoal kettle and gas grills several times.

There is a picture up at the visitors center from like the 50s of the lake looking like it does today.
Thanks Ira, I don't remember that picture, but it makes sense! Banks Lake was filled in 1951. I'm not a geologist or hydrogeologist by any means but I believe there's a connection to the two lakes just as I believe there's a connection to Banks and Lenore. Speculating can be fun.
I spent Sunday basically moving into our new to us R-POD. When I sold the A-Frame I put everything in tubs out in the garage so I had to unpack it all and figure out where every thing should go. And then - snow came.
We love our RPod, but it’s not very well insulated. I won’t unwinterize it until the end of March.
Yea, I may not run any water in it this trip. I have a 5 gal Igloo water can to bring along.

Went hiking with the wife again in 28 degree weather. Here’s what I found.
Ugh. I did drive down the gravel road south of the Potholes Dam and noticed the Teals to be partially unfrozen. Someone needs to make a Lenice run this weekend for the benefit of the rest of us. Please?

Kind of the same here. In the 50s next week.
I'm planning to hike into the "lakes" tomorrow (that would be the Seeger Effect lakes he likes to camp at) to see if the stream that flows through has any affect on melting ice. I saw ice fishermen on Moses Lake Monday so the ice on portions of that lake must be substantial (I didn't see Dan's old Buick out there (floorboards cut out in places so he can fish with the heater running).
About an inch or so of new snow here this morning, 12F so the snow is nice and light. I wish my wife would get up and out there and shovel the driveway. (just kidding).
