Got nailed a couple miles from home by a drunk driver who doesn't own the car and was uninsured. Trailer is totaled, boat and truck scratched.

MEGA thread drift: How is it that in this country we have drivers who continue to be allowed to drive when they have DUI's, specifically more than one DUI? Uninsured motorist? I mean, many of them are technically NOT allowed to. But many of them still do, just illegally. Not sure how you keep them from jumping in a friend's car to go for a joy ride like seems may have been the case here.

My wife's uncle has multiple DUIs and had his license revoked years ago plus a few stays in the county pen. He still drives around.

The issue is older folks behind the wheel with bad eyes, horrible hearing and slow reactions.

My FIL hasn't been in an accident in decades, but he has caused quite a few......and cluelessly keeps on truckin'.
