Welding Repair?

My neighbor was a car guy. He found an antique toy car and intended to fix it up for my son to use. Unfortunately he passed away recently. His wife gave the car to my son but it has two cracked welds. I contacted a shop about fixing it but the cost is prohibitive. I was thinking there might be someone on here who could tack it back together so he could use it. I'm located in Edmonds.

That is a 10 minute job. I am in Puyallup, I would do it for free, there has to be a welder on here in your area.
Good luck.

Welding that will be problematic as there appears to be nothing to weld to on the right side and the rust that will need to be cleaned first with destroying the metal if there’s any left.

yeah it's pretty far gone, but you could probably sand off the rust and get down to some weldable steel underneath, then fab an L shaped bracket to go on the back side to tie the two together.

you could just get a l bracket for each side and use bolts to secure them but you would have to drill through the grill to bolt it in place. no welding

He's almost too big for it already. I was just looking to get it tacked together so he could use it a little bit before he's too big. He's being sentimental about it and I don't have the heart to tell him it's more trouble than it's worth. I could drill and bolt a 90 if people don't think welding is viable.

Mcgyver it... L bracket the strut and horizontal surface together with sheet metal screws, maybe some JB Weld filets to rigify it
