Looks like Summer is over with the new cooler temperatures. Anyone back to fishing the lowland lakes yet?

I just got done with a 10 days straight job that ended on Friday. Now I’m itching to see what my favorite lake is up to.

I've fished the low lakes, once a week all Summer. It's a potpourri of fish species. I manage to catch trout by fishing deep, sinking lines near the bottom. Even get an occasional bass this way. Before leaving for home I head to the weeds and fish for sunfish. I'm a big fan of bluegill, they strike and fight hard. The fast action keeps me entertained. I even went out and assembled a dedicated sunfish rig. An 8ft, 4# with intermediate line. Don't give up on the local ponds..

Dan, have you fished small poppers for spiny rays? It’s like dry fly fishing to me……

I fished a popular higher elevation lake last week (rhymes with Chewbacca) - it was slow because of winds, but the last day was pretty good. no crowds.
