...THREAT OF RIVER FLOODING THURSDAY NIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY FOR
RIVERS FLOWING OFF OF THE CASCADES AND SOUTHEAST OLYMPICS...

Seasonally unusual heavy rainfall coupled with late snowmelt and
runoff will result in sharp rises and fast flows on area rivers with
minor flooding possible at a few locations.

Crests and flows on rivers could be near record levels for this time
of year, and impacts may be exacerbated by enhanced seasonal or
agricultural use near some river locations.

My sons buddy tried to float the lower walla walla for bass the other day. Too much water to control his ponton, and while trying to extract a hung up plug, flipped his pontoon, he was tangled up, the force of the water would not let him get his head out of the water for more than a second or two at a time, and he damn near drowned, if his buddy hadn't pulled him up.

Holy shit that's scary.

he was tangled up,
Tangled in his line? Good justification for a knife on the pfd. That said, I can only hope I'd have enough of a clear head in a situation like that to successfully grab the NRS knife I carry and use it.

My business involves selling outside at markets on weekends.... this year has been a joke.

Wonder if I need to re-think my saturday evening shadding plans.

I went out to my favorite little blue line last Tuesday and I couldn't get pass a deeper fast spot cause the creek is was running kinda full.
If I had lost my footing it would have been right into the log jam.
I'm getting to old to fall, esp. in the river.
