It has been a while since we've fished! I'll be heading out to MT this Fall or sooner.. we'll fish somewhere.. or drink some Jim Beam!! Cheers!!

@swimmy, I remember my questioning why folks smoked cigars while fishing phase....until that magical day when the clouds cleared, mountains came into view, evergreens created a backdrop to the emerald green water and I lite the fuse to something akin to an out of body experience, religion the way it was intended. Now life just isn't the same without a good cigar riverside. I swear the fish bite better when lit also. A cheap Backwoods or Swisher Sweet in God's country is like drinking a keystones light after a good long days work, it quenches your thirst but doesn't get you there, however, light up a nice fat stick made from our friendly neighbors to the south and you will see the light.

It might take some practice...

If you wait until Fall, you will be fishing in the snow. It comes early in the Fall season.

I'm thinking of late August, early September.. drive a day each way.. and fish for 3 or 4 days.. probably just camp.. depends on how hot it gets out there this summer...

Late august is a good time. But it depends on how hot it is in the summer time. Lots of rivers are on Hoot Owl or closed all the way down. It's hunt and peck time in August
