FYI:I'm exited for my first encounter with WDFW law enforcement! Once I got the license I removed the password option on my phone. This renders the app useless. Why did I do it? It slows down the process of getting the camera going on my phone. Not putting up with that.
When the LEO and I meet up he's going to have to wait for me to go to settings and password protect my phone. Those of you old enough probably remember Tim Conway on the old Carol Burnett show. Specifically the character of the old guy with messed up gray hair that shuffled his feet a couple inches at a time and fucked up everything he touched - very slooowly. That will be me...
I had thought that they discontinued mailing notices, but I double-checked to be sure before replying. Looks like letters have been discontinued, but you may get an email or postcard. I cannot remember the last time I got a letter in the mail telling me it was time to renew my vehicle, boat or trailer registration.Interestingly, i got an email today about my truck license plates. First time ever.
Makes me think no longer getting a notice in the mail.
Cost savings

I went electronic this year... the app is sub par. The inability to change your mind and go to paper is absolutely ridiculous.
If I lose my phone while fishing or if my battery dies I will keep fishing or hunting and will not pay any associated fines.

Glad you got your phone back Yard!Just got off a 7 day JD float. About halfway through my phone fell out of my front pocket getting out of the boat. It was about 4' deep... it was still alive.
Good practical advice for all of us, thanks!Glad you got your phone back Yard!
If I may, I'd suggest an IP68 waterproof phone pouch, or if you want to take pictures, a form fitted case; $20 to $50. They either come with or have an anchor point that will accept 20lb backing or braid to connect to a neck lanyard that will keep it at your fingertips and prevent loss. Tucked into a pocket, into a shirt, or under a pfd it won't be a bother.
A case's stick-on fingerprint feature may be quirky or quit working but I just press the power button once, quick swipe, and enter my 4 digit PIN. Takes less than 5 seconds, works every time.
Also keeping the phone in airplane mode when in poor or no cell coverage will still allow GPS for navigation and WIFI and BT for connecting devices but stops the heavy cell radio battery drain
And for around $20 to $40+ a lightweight pocket sized power bank in a dry bag or pouch will charge your phone 2+ times if you are using it for pics and navigation.
Hmmm...just attach your phone? So has anyone heard what they are gonna do if they dont have the paper to print game tags that need to be attached to the animal after harvest.

What if you dont own a phone. Is a smart phone gonna be required of anyone 15yrs old to fish in this state? Plain paper tags could be easily reproduced allowing a hunter to produce multiple tags.Hmmm...just attach your phone?![]()
I've had four of them as well!! Not a contest we want to win though! Cheers! Stay healthy!Maybe they’ll come up with something like those bands they put around your wrist during medical procedures. There doesn’t seem to be any shortage of those. I’ve had four attached to me in the past three months and I don't have antlers.
