Waxing Fiberglass Boat

Going to give Gibraltar Sky a wax. Curious as to the steps. With cars it is suggested to swap out pads every panel or two panels, what is the equivalent for a boat? As for prep, do I need to do a full wash and dry? She is 31'5" LOA and it is very labor intensive to do so, but it may be a required step. Stored outdoors at the Edmonds Dry storage, the worst dirt she will have on is bird poop that I can quick detailer off. Finally, do I need to do any polishing or decontamination? The gel coat is as glossy and as full colored as the day we bought it, and feels smooth to touch

I can't answer on Gibraltar. I switched to just spray bottle quick wax type stuff for ease of application. Since I do a pressure washdown on my boat after every ocean trip, and usually with either white vinegar or Salt-Away in the dispenser to deal with saltwater stuff, I wanted something quick and easy. Basically anything like the above mentioned will strip the wax off, so ease of application was top priority. Plus it seems to work just fine.

Not going to claim it's as good as something like Gibraltar, but if it gets stripped off every week or two, then why get the good stuff?

I’m certainly do not have all the answers, but my buddy is a master at making gelcoat shine. He loves this product, and says he can now only find it online.

Gibraltar Sky is the name of our boat haha. I'll pick up some spray on stuff that sounds a lot easier
