Wallowa Area

Didn’t do any fishing on this trip, but thought I’d share some photos. Most of these photos are taken from the drive up to Hat Point Lookout @ Hells Canyon. Wonderful place. They include Wallowa Crk., Snake R. and Imnaha R.

is this the lake, a lake, above the lostine canyon ?? looks like one i hiked to years ago...

Yes. Another lake up above that, and another below once you cross the saddle to get to the higher lake.

I entirely struck out at that lake a few years ago, and found a maybe 5" brookie in the one down below. Also some brutal rain/snow one of the nights.

Several years ago you could fill a pan with small brookies from that lake in the picture. Last year, not a one to be found. The lower lake always gives up a few, or the meadow stream down by the lower lake.

Floated it a few weeks ago and second that wish. Beautiful country but man, discouraging fishing.
