Walla Walla Kids derby

Gave up the last day of steelheading and took the boys to the kids derby in town today. Boy did they have fun. These things are crazy, but there will be good memories.

Too many people for a fly rod, but we'll be back with it mid week. Got lots of precision casting practice in.

Way to go, Grandpa!

That brings back memories! Nice hat and nice shoes. I just replaced my 30 year old Bean rubber mocs with new ones. Yours look to be the same brand.

They are, about 25 yrs for these, and will be due for replacement about the same time as yours.

Looks like you brought a couple of recruits into the fold. Hooked for life! Your fishing gear just became generational.

I hope so. Gettin' them going just like I did their dad.

There is something magical about kids and bobbers. Watching the bobber disappear below the surface. At 71, I’ve gone full circle with indicator fishing.

At 30 years old, the boots had soul but no tread on the soles. You are doing things right. I’m hoping to do the same with my granddaughters. I taught my daughter to tie flies at a young age and she likes to fish. They live near a lake that is stocked and my drift boat has nice high sides so it will be safe for the little ones.
