So….I blinked and now my little one turned 16yo and is heading to a 2 year prep school in the UK. So many emotions. Tough to reconcile that my little mudskipper is leaving home. This was her just a minute ago…

In less than a month, I am flying out to the UK and then to Wales to drop her off here:

Atlanticcollege.org

She applied over this past winter, made it through a tough selection process which included multiple interview rounds and a two day onsite with the selection committee……and was selected. One of only 2 American kids who got in.

(Compartmentalizing all the things I’m feeling about my baby leaving home and being 1/2 a work away for next two years which will be followed by being away from me for at least another four for university undergrad …..) after I drop her off I am scheduled to be in wales and/or England for another 4 days.

I could just mope around and feel sorry for myself, OR I could try to fish a bit. Does anyone have any fishing advice for Wales, or for the Bath/Cotswolds area (which is on way back from Wales to London area)? Appreciate any intel.

No fishing advice, but many congrats to you and your daughter. Well done, you both should be very proud.

cheers

I've fished in Exmoor, which is a bit southwest of Bristol/Bath. Nice small creek. Had to buy a license from the local tourist bureau. Caught my first non N. America fish in front of a delightful little tea shop.
