Wading boots

In preparation for my Alaska trip, I discovered felt sole boots are against the law. They allow studs.

That means a new pair of boots for the trip. Guess I will now have a backup pair.

Most skinny blue water I fish requires studded felt e.g. RC...

Any recommendations?

I need good ankle support. I do not want to break the bank.

Simms Freestone wading boots can be found for reasonable and have excellent soles and ankle support. Really like mine.

The aluminum bar Patagonia Foot Tractors are very grippy.

I needed the exact same thing to navigate all the mud and silt in Ohio streams (plus lots of snow in winter). Perfect choice after a year of solid use. Studs included.
