WA High Country - 3 Corners Lake

Wake up call at 3:30am for this one. Quick check of the AQI…I’m looking for anything less than Coal Miner’s Lung…and it’s 70! Yes, let’s roll.

In the car I powered up on coffee and mini chocolate donuts and before I knew it the trailhead was emerging from the darkness. Boots on the trail at 4:50am for a 7 mile grind to a lake that’s just within the limits on my time-restricted hallpass for the day.

Fish seemed to be in deeper water today, all rainbows. Ledges, drop offs, etc is where they lurked. Lost more than I landed, but left with my mojo replenished.
