Sorta fishing-related
That is awesome. I have always had a fond love of flight, and space/flight. If I would have known my self worth at an earlier age, I would have gone after it. Today I am strongly considering getting my pilot's license at some point with the intention of owning a small Cessna. So far I have figured out how to talk to ground, and the tower, and the general "language" that is used in communication. Ill start navigation systems at some point. I told my wife jokingly that in the event of a zombie apocalypse and we had to get in a plane to escape, I think I could do it! I even know the start up procedure of my Cessna, and my F-14.
Ha! Yeah I used to know by heart the start up sequence of the Kamov 50 helicopter, optimal airspeed for a Mig-29 to have the tightest turn, missile dodging techniques and all that shit :D

What I find fun and interesting is how very different tastes and sought experiences can be. Some, like Daniel, want to simulate real life activities: aviation, sports, firearms, etc. And gaming is getting very good at these simulations.

On the other end, with folks like me, I want to go live in a fantasy world and swing around swords that probably weigh 500lb, conjur some magic, and see what kinds of creative ways those things can be woven in to stories and game mechanics. Basically the same way I enjoy my fiction books.

That said, I do enjoy driving/car simulation games from time to time. Always been a big fan of the Gran Turismo series.

Also, if you haven't figured it out with all my computer stuff, vidja game tastes, etc... Outside of my fishing and fitness obsessions, I'm kind of a massive nerd.

If you ever have any serious boss issues in future games just let me know. I will do a straffing run with my A-10. That would be kinda funny. After your 20th time not beating the boss you just paint the target, and BRRRRRRRT. Thanks Dan. By Evan.

. Solution is suppose is 5 monitors of different sizes LOL LOL.
first data center I built for VeriSign had a seamless 64 screen 'cube wall' in the primary ops center to display the various graphs/interactions of defense software deployed against intrusion software (DC purpose was to guard the firewalls of over a hundred major companies as well as host the SSL for thousands of online storefronts).
The cube wall could be used to show dozens of different interactions or display a single one across the entire display, which completely covered one wall in a 24 operator console room.
So a few weeks prior to going live, some ops center controllers decided to put the combat video game they were hot on up on the cube wall, cranked up the in-wall speakers and had at it
Passing through a nearby corridor heard the noise, wandered into what felt like being in the middle of one gigantic firefight, explosions, red and green tracers flying every which way, bodies getting splattered...a non-gamer, I beat feet with ears ringing.

Very cool. I also worked in a data center NOC and familiar with the TV wall so we can keep an eye on the data center and the clients going in and out.

I started teaching myself how to play Digital Combat Simulator. I started on Saturday evening, and did not go to bed till 7:30 AM Sunday.
So in about 12 hours you got 3 columns of numbers . . . that all you got to show for your effort?

I think he’s assigning commands of aircraft operations to the flight stick controls, navigation, weapon systems, etc…
You would have to learn to use all the controls correctly just like the real thing to get it to work, like engine start up sequence for example. I used to be really into that :)

Yes sir.

I'm loving Avowed. What a great game!
Looks pretty awesome. I tend to really dislike first person anything, but I occasionally can jive with the right one.

Like most games, I'll wait for it to age a bit and go on sale. Have plenty to get me through until then. I'll also need to play it on SteamDeck since it isn't on PS5.

I do have Pillars of Eternity 2 in my SteamDeck library I haven't got to yet. It's part of the same family of games as Avowed but is a top-down view like Baldur's Gate.

I have an old XBox 360 and a ton of games.. an old PSP and a Raspberry Pi I need to setup.. i will eventually get a new system or just use my Samsung laptop or my phone..

And to answer you question.. yes, I am that AWESOME! REALLY I AM! YOU ARE ALL LUCKY TO KNOW ME! 😄

I should go first. Just a very basic pc setup. I greatly enjoy flight simulator, and call of duty primarily. I even have a Twitch. I started doing it for 2 reasons which was my career, and saw an opportunity to hang out with my children. It all started cause Tori said she could beat me in N64 Golden Eye! I felt that crossing the line. 6 Years later we all still have our Wednesday night "Stooge" group with my daughters and other friends.
When my children irritate me, it is really satisfying to destroy them on Call of Duty! LOL

Geek! Wait I resemble that remark... I'm really just jealous biotch!! Let's play and smoke cigars and drink whisk(e)y as we fly! Just like the NW pilots years ago! LOL!

Started Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth a few days ago. It's a sequel to several games at once, so not one to recommend outright, but it's one of my favorite series of all time. If you ever want to check it out, start with "Yakuza: Like a Dragon" which is the game this one is a direct sequel to... only there's about a half dozen other games you'll want to play before playing Infinite Wealth. So you'll play that one I recommended, then Yakuza 0, then each subsequent game in series until you get to Yakuza 6 (you can skip 4 and 5), then LaD Gaiden, then Infinite Wealth.... Yeah, you'd be busy for a long time, but few if any game series match their story telling ability.

I enjoyed Pillars 1 & 2. And, back in the day, Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale.

I bounced off P1 pretty hard - just seemed way too verbose. Long, long pieces of lore dumps for the sake of.. well, "more words must mean more compelling story." Just didn't work for me. I hear P2 is much better about that, so excited to give it a go. As far as CRPG-style games, the only two I've ever really enjoyed and gone the distance with are Dragon Age: Origins and Divinity Original Sin 2. I got up to Act 3 on BG3, but just decided I was not enjoying it as much as I thought I would.
